Fawad says PML-N should face polls instead of 'escaping'
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Minister of Information and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Fawad Chaudhry said on Sunday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should face the elections instead of “running away” from it, and they are “afraid” of facing the masses.
While addressing the media at Zaman Park Fawad said “If PML-N is short on votes, they should leave, after what Khan achieved yesterday, they are unable to get back at it, and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is only a wild-goose chase, Khan is the true embodiment of politics.”
Fawad added that they [incumbent rulers] are getting “favor calls” for not holding elections, and PML-N needs to stop using the Election Commission as their partner. It is a constitutional obligation to hold elections on time.
Fawad while taking a jibe at PML-N leadership, said “It is evident from their faces that PML-N has lost hope and they should not run away from facing the situation of snap-polls if the national assembly is not dissolved, even PML-N will not have any potential candidate for upcoming elections.” He added, “If the election commission backs out from holding snap-polls, it will mean that they are in PML-N’s favor.”
PTI leader urged PML-N top brass to not manipulate the election commission, for their personal interests, as the constitution states, Elections shall be held on time.
He slammed the PML-N government by saying that state affairs are discussed behind closed doors but those who are in power need to rethink their decisions as Pakistan will have to bear huge losses if they did not accept public decisions.
He also added that if they mistake the choice of 7mn educated people to leave the state and that no investor is interested in investing in Pakistan, means the country has lost its worth.
Earlier, taking to Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said “We would chase down PML-N and will not spare anyone (PML-N) who runs away from the accountability on behalf of masses, PML-N cannot run from elections by hiding behind the election commission.”
